Was wondering what eSwiss programs there are for div 1-3 players, such as food/weapon/training subsidies?
If there aren't any currently, how about starting one?
I've been in countries that directly fund the armed forces, give players gold to train, provide food, do organized IRC battles, provide moving costs, all that stuff, and it ends up being a logistical nightmare. Have to keep track of activity levels, maintain spreadsheets of who trained when, send funds and items, make sure everyone is following the rules, and it all ends up being eSpreadsheet rather than fun.
My thought is, if combat orders (COs) can be set based on citizenship, why not pick an MPP (or eSwiss) battle each day and provide a citizen-only CO for divs 1-3? Set the value for around the cost of the food and tanks) and then let players know of the CO and they can choose to fight in the battle?
advantages:
no paperwork, other than monitoring the cost of food and weapons and adjusting occasionally the amount per million damage, using an influence calculator based on a hypothetical average player for that div
directly increases activity, giving players a reason to log in
easily budgeted for, as each battle/day can have a maximum amount set
hard to "cheat" the system and receive benefits without performing.
players can go at their own pace.
disadvantages:
the most effective div 1-3 fighter is one who only strength trains and stays in the div as long as possible, but the program wouldn't be aimed at min-maxers, but at casual players, so only a slight disadvantage
the CP or a MU leader has to set the COs and let people know, each day
thoughts?
